Below is a list of rules for The Lifeboat. Please keep the rules viewable & do not leave the thread as any amendments to the rules will be made here. Admin are always open to discussion on the rules and suggestions for improvements are welcomed.
Rule 1: ARC First
If your ARC is below Level 80 then you are in The Lifeboat’s ‘Deck Hand’ Campaign, often called an “Arc-leveller” or just “baby Arc”. We love baby Arc’s and you will have lots of help and support getting your Arc to level 80. For this support all we ask is that all of your Forge Points (FP’s) should be spent on building your ARC to start with, don’t put fp’s into your Technology Tree or anywhere else until Arc is level 80.
There are a few GB’s that we do support you building at this point if you’re missing BluePrints (BP’s) for your ARC, we call this being BP locked. Especially if you love to fight then CdM, CoA, Zeus & Traz to level 10 are useful. Observatory (OBS) for the guild / GBG & ToR to maximise winnings from GE.
Once your Arc is at 80, all of your BP’s and medals are free and you get back all of the FP’s you invest on other peoples GB’s in the guild. You are just loaning them your FP’s until they level then you get them back.
Rule 2: LifeBoat Campaigns
Campaigns are tried and tested over many years of collective game play, campaigns provide; structure, guidance for those who need it, they ensure a constant supply of Blue Prints (BP’s) for all guild members and are the ideal path for rapid growth. We provide mud threads for new campaign buildings, to quickly get your new GB to a productive state. All these buildings are offered our highly beneficial mud threads (free Fp’s) & those supporting the guild will often receive full Arc bonus.
Campaign 1 – Deckhand – Arc (80)
Campaign 2 – Cabin Crew – CC, AO CdM (60) *BG/SC/AI see below
Campaign 3 – Crew – Zeus, CoA, CF (60)
Campaign 4 – Engineer – HC, ToR (60)
Campaign 5 – Bosun – TA, Traz (60)
Campaign 6 – 1st Mate – Obs, Kn (60)
Campaign 7 – Master Gunner 3rd Class – The choice is yours to build anything you like
Master Gunner 2nd Class – 10 campaign GB’s at level 70,
Master Gunner 1st Class – 10 campaign GB’s at level 80
Lifeboat Elite – 10 Campaign buildings at 90+
- We recommend building Blue Galaxy once you have at least 4 event buildings that produce over 12 fps + fragments or Goods / troops. This gives you the maximum performance from the chance to double your collections every day. Level your BG as you add event buildings. Given how BG works and it’s starting point is 4 attempts, after Arc levelled to 80 the recommendation is still to build Cape as it’s a great small footprint fp producer, unless you have 4 event buildings (or more) that are producing >13fps + frags or goods or troops. In which case build BG to level 10 first then Cape. Once you have seven event buildings increase BG to level 15 & so on up until level 91 BG when it maxes out at 15 attempts. Continue building BG alongside your other campaign buildings.
- Space Carrier can be started before Arctic Era but best to wait until you reach Artic to speed progress
- AI Core like the SC is a good addition when you start Artic Era & helps the guild
Rule 3: Campaign Alternatives
Campaigns are critical to the success of the whole guild but there are a very small number of exceptions where we will allow a player to try an alternative path. If you are going to ask permission to take this route we will expect to see a very detailed level of game knowledge, some evidence of your reasoning and a commitment to Guild activities.
Guild Titles and achievements
Campaign 1 – Deckhand – Arc (80) mandatory
Picaroon – TBA Further information will be provided in the near future.
Corsair – TBA
Privateer – TBA
Buccaneer – TBA
BG / SC / AI / Obs will all be supported with a mud thread and often full bonus paid on Guild Goods producing buildings.
Rule 4: SNIPING & TAKING SPOTS
No Sniping inside the guild – No taking spots on other members GBs without them calling the spot in the threads. This is non-negotiable and will be considered in guild sniping.
This means you must ensure you have won the spot BEFORE adding your FPs. We accept errors occur, lag in the game/internet but you must then make it right & pay back any FPs that a guildmate has lost due to your error, they will also repay you if their error caused you to lose FPs.
Rule 5: Reserving Spots
No reserving spots outside of ARCs. We allow you to reserve spots on ARCs because we want you to get those all important BPs but as you move up the campaigns the only fair way is to be the fastest to claim the spot. If you are BP locked then request a level in the BAR & someone will help you but you must still claim the spot as normal.
Rule 6: Requesting a NEW MUD thread
When you are close to completing your current Campaign, that’s 5 levels to go on your last GB, you can request a mud thread for 1, 2 or all of your GBs for the next campaign. Please make your request in the Mud request thread and we will create the Mud thread for you. Until you finish your current campaign you should not add any FPs to your mud threads yourself.
Rule 7: Mud threads
a. We ask that you contribute 10 fps minimum.
b. When taking 1 of the 1st 5 spots that pay back FPs upon completion of the level you should ensure that you add 10fps on top of the FPs you will get back otherwise you have not donated. IMPORTANT if your Arc is 80+ you must pay your Arc bonus + 10fps, thank you.
c. Do not outbid any spot that is already covering cost + 10fps, no matter how generous you think you’re being, if you really want to add more than 10fps, add up to1 fp lower than the spot already taken and/ or add to the next level.
Baby Arcs (Deck Hands) are not expected to contribute and we will try not to add you to a mud thread before your Arc is level 80 however mistakes may happen. if you are added to a mud thread & you are still levelling your Arc just post congrats Arc & leave the thread, no need to add any FPs.
When contributing to Mud threads you should do so as quickly as possible after they are created so that the GB owner can start levelling up as soon as possible.
Rule 8: Guild Expedition (GE)
IMPORTANT: Wait for the trophy to turn gold before starting. Otherwise we believe we are matched with higher level guilds.
GE requirements: DECKHANDS – Minimum 48/64 This is level 3 completed. Everyone above Deckhand should be completing a minimum 64/64 – Level 4. We realise that Real Life happens and there may be occasions when you may not be able to complete the GE requirements. Please contact one of the Admin team or post in the Absence Thread, to let us know how long you think you will be unable to complete the requirements. If you need any help completing just ask.
UPDATE: Any guild member missing three weeks of their GE targets (in any three month period) and you automatically walk the plank.
Rule 9: Guild Battle Ground (GBG)
This is not a requirement of the guild. Our only rule for GBG at present is that you follow instructions posted in the GBG thread, for our strategies to work it is important that you heed instructions & follow the targets & stop hands placed on the map.
We would like as many of you to participate as possible and we will be happy to show you the ropes but there is no pressure. GBG is the best way to win Diamonds, FP’s, fragments of buildings and other goodies.
Note: Whilst in the lower leagues we had to include restrictions on the number of points you can take per day e.g. rationing of fights, this seems unlikely to happen again but another reason to read the GBG thread carefully.
Rule 10: DISCOUNTS
Until you are a Master Gunner we do not want or expect you to offer discounts on your GBs, unless of course there has been an error and there is no choice. All of your FPs should be focused on your GBs and by offering discounts that are not necessary you are slowing your growth. Once you are a Master Gunner you can offer all of the discounts that you want.
Rule 11: ARC BONUSES (Level 81+)
We do not expect anyone to pay full Arc bonus (FB). You have worked hard to level up your ARC and should benefit from that. Any bonus you wish to give to smaller players will be gratefully received, especially to help out another large ARC who is levelling & is willing to give discounts to babies but this is not a requirement. The only exception to this is when paying your MUD contributions, You have technically not contributed if you are taking a spot that will pay you back more in bonus than you are contributing.
Rule 12: Goods trading in the Market
All Goods exchanges should be fair trades. That means you can trade 1 era up or 1 era down at 2:1 or 1:2 respectively. So, going up an era you pay 2 of the lower era for 1 of the higher era and trading down you pay 1 for every 2 of the lower era goods. If you need unfair trades for a GB then please request this in the bar & it will be authorised. This will ensure that no other member accidently takes an unfair trade by mistake. If you post unfair trades without warning you may be required to repay goods.
Rule13: Circular Trading
When offering a circular trade to complete a quest please state “CIRCULAR TRADE – when taking a circular trade please ensure you take both trades.”
Rule 14: Speed Levelling
There are no restrictions as such on speed levelling as long as it’s in guild and an open process so everyone has the opportunity to take part. It’s easier if all those taking part pay FB and the GB involved doesn’t need collecting from in between levels.
Finally
Not rules, more recommendations. Hopefully this doesn’t need saying but please keep it friendly in all communications with other players. The Bar is for chat, help and advice, we encourage all players to use it frequently. It’s a big part of what makes the LifeBoat so special. We monitor GB growth, GE & contributions to mud threads & while not compulsory keep half an eye on GBG and QI. Where players are lacking progress on campaign GB’s or levelling GB’s outside of campaign buildings, not actively participating in guild activities or not abiding by the guild ethos and ethics we may suggest an alternative guild as more suitable for your game play style. This is called walking the plank.
